Measured Transition (2016-2021)
This was a durational performance in which I grew my hair between going to my GP to ask for gender affirming healthcare till I received top surgery.
Not only is this a recording of current dysphoria, but it is also something that's actively giving me dysphoria.

Once I had received top surgery, I cut my hair off in a performance, commissioned by Yorkshire Sculpture International and the Henry Moore Institute. This was done with a surgical scalpel. During the performance, the questions I had been asked in the Gender Identity Clinic were played into the room.
